Presenting the state budget of Rs 2,18,302.70 crore for the financial year 2021-22 after the lunch break in Bihar Legislative Assembly, Deputy Chief Minister cum Finance Minister Tarkishore Prasad said that I hope that this budget will bring prosperity in the state. He said that this budget is Rs 6541.21 crore more than the budget for the current financial year 2020-21 and it has estimated revenue surplus of Rs 9195.90 crore in 2021-22. Tarkishore said that in the budget of 2021-22, the maximum provision of Rs 38035.93 crore has been made for the education sector. After this, provision of Rs 16,835.67 crore for rural development, Rs 15,227.74 crore for road, Rs 13,264.87 crore for health and 8560.00 crore for energy sector. He said that in this budget, seven goals under “Seven Nyct-2”: youth power, progress of Bihar, strong women-able women, irrigation water up to every farm, clean village-rich village, clean city-developed city A provision of Rs 4671.00 crore has been made for easy connectivity and additional health care for all. Asked whether petroleum products will also be brought under the purview of GST, Finance Department Principal Secretary S Siddharth said that neither the proposals were brought nor there was any discussion on it. Leader of Opposition in Bihar Legislative Assembly Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, while stating what was said in this budget as mere declaration and a bundle of lies mocking the public, alleged that the false drums of 20 lakh jobs were created by the ruling parties in the recently concluded Bihar assembly elections.
