Expressing his opposition to the rise in the prices of petrol and diesel, Congress President Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra traveled from his residence to office on Monday on a bicycle. However, Vadra faced trolls on social media when some BJP leaders and others targeted him. “I do what I say,” Vadra said on his un-verified Twitter handle. On Monday morning, there was a long cycle ride from home to office amidst traffic. I feel saddened by the public and understand what will happen to them every day due to increase in petrol and diesel prices. The government should reduce fuel prices.
He said that he is speaking on behalf of common people who are upset due to rising prices of petrol and diesel in the country, although the prices of crude oil are coming down. BJP general secretary CT Ravi, while targeting Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s husband Rabat Vadra, said on Twitter that he was wearing an expensive suit while riding a bicycle and that his “diesel-powered car was behind the Land Cruiser”.
Former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot on Monday targeted the central government for the rising prices of petrol and diesel and alleged that it was looting people’s hard-earned money. Pilot tweeted, “The central government is robbing people of their hard-earned money by increasing the prices of petrol-diesel and domestic gas.” During the tenure of the UPA government, the BJP leaders who made a hollow and unrestrained noise in the name of inflation have taken silence on this unbridled inflation. ”
In protest against the rising prices of petrol and diesel in the country, the MLA of the opposition party Congress rushed to Madhya Pradesh Assembly Complex riding on bicycles on Monday. The budget session of the assembly has started from Monday. Congress MLAs PC Sharma, Jeetu Patwari, Kunal Chaudhary, Shashank Bhargava and Arif Masood rode from Bhopal’s Vyapam crossroads to the assembly premises in protest against rising fuel prices. Former state minister and senior Congress MLA Sharma told reporters that during the tenure of the previous UPA government, the prices of crude oil in the international market were almost double the current rates, but at that time the prices of petrol, diesel and gas in the country were low.
