Kolkata
The Bharatiya Janata Party is gearing up for the preparations for the assembly elections to be held in West Bengal and Assam this year. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is once again visiting West Bengal and Assam on Monday. While the PM will lay the foundation stone for many projects in Assam, he will inaugurate the expansion of Kolkata Metro along with addressing the public meeting in Hooghly, Bengal. This is PM Modi’s third Bengal visit within a month.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the extension of the North-South line of Kolkata Metro going from Noapada to Dakshineswar. Kolkata Metro spokesperson Indrani Banerjee said that the Prime Minister will flag off the metro train from Noapada to Dakshineswar through an event in Hooghly. The inaugural show is scheduled for Monday at noon. Thousands of people will benefit from Noapara to Dakshineswar after the trains operate on this 4.1 km long route.

31 km distance will be covered in an hour
After the expansion of the North South line of the metro rail, devotees desirous of visiting Dakshineswar Kali temple, apart from regular passengers, will have the facility to travel fast and pollution free. The metro official said that it will now take more than an hour for the passengers of Kavi Subhash station to travel more than 31 kilometers to Dakshineswar.

Special reason behind public meeting in Hooghly

After this, the Prime Minister will address the public meeting at the Dunlop ground of Hooghly. Significantly, the BJP’s performance in the last Lok Sabha elections in Hooghly region has been very good. BJP’s locket Chatterjee won from here. BJP wants to maintain its influence here. It is believed that this is the motive behind the PM’s meeting here. Two days later, Chief Minister of Bengal Mamta Banerjee is also coming to the public meeting in this ground.

Modi tweeted information
PM Modi tweeted on Sunday and informed about the expansion of Metro service in Hooghly. He tweeted- ‘Metro train service from Nawapada to Dakshineswar will be inaugurated. This scheme is quite special. This project will facilitate the journey to the holy Kali Mata temple. In another tweet, he wrote- ‘You will be happy to know that the Baranagar and Nawapada stations are equipped with modern facilities. This will help people immensely. ‘
