Delhi: refused to marry, but died
A sensational incident came to light from Delhi, where a 17-year-old girl was murdered mercilessly for rejecting a marriage proposal. The accused youth was constantly pressurizing the girl for marriage, but the girl had refused to marry. On Friday, the young man hit the girl with a hammer. After which the blood-soaked girl was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
This whole incident is from Rohini area of Northwest Delhi. Neetu’s cousin Kaushal Kumar said, ’25-year-old accused Laik Khan was pressurizing the deceased Neetu to marry, but she was refusing to marry. On Friday evening, I came to Neetu’s house in Rohini at around 5 pm, where Laik was already present.

Kaushal said, ‘For two-three months, Laiq had been pressurizing Neetu to marry, but she considered him only her friend. Around 6 pm, Laik gave me 200 rupees and asked me to bring chicken and vegetables to eat. When I returned home at 7.45 pm, I saw Laik locking the door. He also had a hammer in his hand. I told him to wait, but he left quickly.
Kaushal told, ‘After this I dialed Neetu. The phone was ringing continuously but Neetu did not receive the phone. Then we started breaking the door. During this time, Neetu’s mother also returned, who had gone out of the house for some work. We broke the door with the help of a hammer and when the door opened we were stunned to see the inside. We saw inside that there were injuries on Neetu’s face and head and she was covered in blood. We immediately took him to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Neetu told her mother about Laik’s marriage proposal
Kaushal accuses Laik that he attacked Neetu because Neetu refused to marry him. Neetu’s cousin told that Laik used to come to our house often. Neetu told her mother about Laik’s marriage proposal and her refusal.
DCP (Rohini) PK Mishra said, ‘The girl’s family previously lived in Bawana, where accused Laik was her neighbor. The families of both knew each other. Laiq Khan often used to come to the girl’s house and he stayed at her house for almost a month ‘. DCP told that Neetu used to study in class XI. When the girl refused the marriage, accused Laik murdered her brutally.
Mother said- ‘used to threaten to kill daughter’
Neetu’s mother Rani Devi said that Neetu had told me that Laik used to harass her and threatened to kill her. He said, ‘I want the accused to be severely punished’.
The police came to know about the incident through a phone call from the hospital. As soon as the information was received, a police team reached the hospital, while the other team approached the crime scene. A case of murder has been registered based on the complaint of Neetu’s cousin Kaushal Kumar.
