Ahmedabad, 19 February (Language) The campaign for the election of municipal corporations in six major cities of Gujarat came to an end on Friday. The voting will take place on 21 February. Counting for the elections in Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Vadodara, Surat, Bhavnagar and Jamnagar will be held on February 23. While the BJP has sought votes in the name of ‘development’, for a long time, out of power from these local bodies, Congress has made the issue of ‘lack of basic facilities’ and increase in fuel prices. On the last day of campaigning, Gujarat BJP chief CR Patil held a road show from Naroda to Khadia in the city. with them

Counting for the elections in Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Vadodara, Surat, Bhavnagar and Jamnagar will be held on February 23. On the last day of campaigning, Gujarat BJP chief CR Patil held a road show from Naroda to Khadia in the city. He was accompanied by state minister Pradeep Singh Jadeja and Rajya Sabha member Narhari Amin. State unit chief for Congress Amit Chavda held a rally in Vadodara. He criticized the Center for increasing fuel prices and also raised the issue of poor road condition and contaminated water. Leader of the Opposition in the state assembly Paresh Dhanani campaigned in Jamnagar. The Aam Aadmi Party, which claimed to be an alternative to BJP and Congress, also campaigned by taking out a road show. Asaduddin Owaisi’s AIMIM is also in the fray and has fielded 21 candidates in six wards in Ahmedabad.
