Due to the growing Coronavirus in Maharashtra, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced to postpone its Jail Bharo movement to be held on February 24. On February 24, BJP announced a Jail Bharo movement to protest against the increase in electricity bills of farmers. However, on Sunday, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray canceled all social, state and religious programs in view of Corona’s growing transition. After which all the parties announced to cancel their respective programs.
Former state energy minister and BJP state general secretary Chandrashekhar Bawankule said that Energy Minister Nitin Raut assured the public to give 100 units of electricity free of cost and waive the electricity bills of April, May, June and July of the lockdown. Chief Minister cancel decision to cut electricity connection
BJP says that wrong electricity bills sent during lockdown were not rectified. In contrast, bills were sent according to the mind. Bawankule sent a letter to the Chief Minister in which he said that even though our movement has been postponed today, the government should call a meeting immediately on these demands and cancel the decision to cut the power connection. Apart from Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Supriya Sule, Ajit Pawar, Nitin Raut and Nationalist Congress President Sharad Pawar have canceled all their programs.
