A DJ arrested in Goa for 'obscene remarks' on Shivaji Maharaj

Goa Police on Monday arrested 32-year-old DJ Naikelis Noronha for posting ‘vulgar remarks’ about the great Maratha king Shivaji Maharaj on social media. This information was given in an official statement. According to a statement issued by the Goa Police, based on a complaint filed by a man named Premanand, Noronha was arrested from Seolim village in North Goa.

Premanand had said in the complaint that accused Noronha had made ‘obscene remarks’ on Facebook regarding Shivaji Maharaj, which hurt his religious sentiments.

Noronha is currently in police custody and has been booked under Indian Penal Code (IPC) 295 (A) (hurting religious sentiments).

Shivaji was born on 19 February 1630 in the Shivneri fort. His father Shahji Bhonsle was a powerful feudal. His mother Jijabai Jadhav was an exceptionally talented woman born in the clan. Shivaji’s elder brother’s name was Sambhaji, who lived with his father Shahji Bhosle for most of the time. Shahji Raje’s second wife was Tukabai Mohite. He had a son named Ekoji Raje.

Parents had a great influence on Shivaji Maharaj’s character. His childhood was spent under the guidance of his mother. He was educated in politics and war. They began to understand the atmosphere and events of that era very well. The flame of freedom in his heart was ignited. He gathered and united some faithful friends.

At the same time, in Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh, the controversy over the removal of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s statue is increasing. People blocked the highway against the removal of the idol and also submitted a memorandum to the municipality. After which now a new place is being searched for the statue of Shivaji by the municipality.
